Programme Development

Programme Development Overview

QQI has responsibility for developing awards previously developed by FETAC at Levels 1 to 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications. The awards are a statement of the standards to be achieved by the learner. QQI awards at levels 1 - 6 are developed under the Common Awards System and are available for download on www.qqi.ie.

Providers who wish to offer a programme leading to a QQI award(s) in the Common Awards System must have the programme validated by QQI, prior to offering the programme to learners. A programme is a learning package offered by a Provider which has the capacity to enable the learner to reach the standards of knowledge, skill and competence of the award(s).
