FESS CPD Calendar 2020 Spring Summer

FESS CPD Calendar 2020 Spring Summer

The Further Education Support Service has put together a calendar of events for Spring/Summer 2020 to support those working in the FET environment in DES funded providers

Please note: There is frequently a waiting list for attendance at FESS CPD events. To ensure that the maximum number of people get the opportunity to attend a FESS CPD event, please contact FESS (cpdcancellations@fess.ie) if you cannot attend a CPD event that you have booked a place on. To allow FESS allocate the place to someone on the waiting list, please give a minimum of four working days notice.

Local Seminars: FESS also provides local, tailored CPD events, on request. Some conditions apply. Further information is available here.

eCollege: If interested in courses run through eCollege, click here for further information. In addition, please note, a new eCollege course, Moodle for Teachers, was launched in June 2019. Further information is available here.

  Working Interculturally, Promoting Integration

The purpose of this workshop is four-fold. It offers a number of opportunities for FET Teachers, Tutors, Trainers and Co-ordinators who are working with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds to:

  • Explore and reflect on how you have been shaped by your own culture, and how others are shaped by theirs
  • Learn about, become familiar with, and explore some of the thinking and principles behind an approach to intercultural work
  • Experience exercises and processes you might use with others
  • Consider ways in which you might use these resources and insights in your context

This event will take the form of a highly participative, experiential, hands-on workshop. In order to take account of people’s different experience of learning, and diversity of learning styles, a variety of methods and resources will be used.

FESS would be grateful if those interested in this event would register please before Tuesday 10 March.

Target Audience: The target audience for this workshop is FET Teachers, Tutors, Trainers, Co-ordinators

Facilitators: The day will be hosted by FESS and facilitated by Partners, Training for Transformation
